Hard work, inspiration, and collaboration allowed Erica to take this two-family condo conversion from drab to FAB! 68 Newton Street embodies the warm feeling home-owners crave through the details that bring this unit to life. As with anything in life, the magic is in the details, so without further ado, let us introduce you to some of the materials and finishes we used to spec this gorgeous home!
The largest surface areas lay the framework for the most visual impact, and in this case, we took the time, care, and money to employ a skilled artisan to lay this inviting red oak herringbone flooring with a satin finish. Talk about setting the stage; it’s the first thing you see upon entering the space. Initially, we covered the entire first-floor living area with this stunning application.
The Calacatta Classic Quartz Countertops have the second largest surface area adding to that intense visual impact/eye candy. In that application, it adds elegance, enhancing the kitchen’s cohesive feel and simultaneously softening the look with its organic presence. As part of the design, it was essential for us to avoid the overplayed stainless steel hood vent. A more design-friendly esthetic lead us to build a case-good around an installed industrial look. It helped to unify the countertops and the rest of the kitchen by bringing the quartz behind the stove for easy cleaning, and that show-stopping moment where it just pops!
The white polished ceramic tile backsplash in a stacked pattern gives depth and interest without overpowering the expensive and tasteful countertops.
An industrial-style “Vigo” brushed brass faucet with a black pull down hose, and brass spring feature offer both functionality and style!
Bright Brass Milk Glass Pendants hang over the contrasting naturally finished kitchen island, setting the scene for a stylish and cozy gathering so that the home-owner enjoys time with friends and family. At the same time, incorporating the repetitive white motif.
Kitchen hardware can be such a drag, but it can incorporate just the right amount of pizzazz with the proper touch. Layering matte black bar pulls, cup pulls, and knobs throughout this white kitchen in various sizes added the juxtaposition this neutral space was craving and also added rhythm to an otherwise dull implementation.
