But, it is important to keep in mind that the longer you procrastinate at making certain repairs, you are risking matters getting worse and in the long run you could potentially end up paying more for something minor. According to This Old House “Before thinking about a fancy upgrade to the kitchen, address the basics. Insulate the attic, repair plumbing leaks, replace rusty rain gutters, inspect the furnace and the septic system, replace or repair leaky windows, install storm doors, weed the flower beds.” Small changes make a BIG difference when it comes to increasing your home’s value. You don’t have to spend a fortune. Keeping up with your landscaping and curb-appeal also makes an impact on the first impression of your home.
3. CONSIDER STAGING YOUR HOME.
Staging your home is important when it comes to Showings, Open House, and of course your home’s photos that will be posted online (which a lot of the time is the Buyers first impression). Try spending time with a professional stager to get some advice as they know what it takes to make your home more appealing. A couple things that will need to be done is de-cluttering, keeping it clean, and organized.
Many Buyers want to feel as if the home is already move- in ready and well taken care of. It is important to think about the qualities you look for in a home and apply those to your current home.
